Yesterday I finished the audio version of principles. So I pulled out the paper copy\, My sister got me for Christmas and I started reading and highlighting. This book is going to be a Bible in business for years to come. It's a cult classic in the making it's the best business book I’ve read since Think and Grow Rich. In this video I read my favorite analogy from the book ‘principles’, I hope this inspires you to have a beautiful Saturday.
when thinking of those in life who accomplish the unimaginable we often think of them as heroes. a hero isn't a perfect person who always gets things right. far from it, a hero is someone who found or achieved or did something beyond the normal range of achievement and who has given his life to something bigger than himself or other than himself. how did Heroes get to be this way? They typically start out leading ordinary lives. In an Ordinary World and are drawn by a call to Adventure.
This leads them down a road of Trials filled with battle Temptations successes and failures along the way. They are helped by others, often by those who are further along in the journey that serves as a mentor. Those who are less far along also help in various ways. They also gain allies and they learn how to fight against convention. along the way, they encounter Temptations and have clashes and reconciliations with others.they overcome their fears of the fighting because of their great determination to achieve what they want. What are their Special Powers -i.e their skills from both their battles that test and teach them and from gifts such as advice that they receive from others. over time, they both succeed and fail that they increasingly succeed more and more. then they fail as they grow stronger and keep striving for more which leads to even bigger and more challenging battles. Eventually, the hero will have his abyss - his huge failure. This is a test, a test to see whether they have the resilience to come back and fight stronger and with more determination if they do. They have passed. the metamorphose will occur in which they experience the fear that protects them without losing the aggressiveness that propels them forward. with triumphs come the rewards though they don't realize it at the time their biggest reward will be the special knowledge about how to succeed that the hero has earned through his journey.
Now, this is where it becomes my favorite part. They call this a special knowledge of the boom and the greatest gift in life is returning the boom to others. So they say there are three parts in life. The first is learning. The second is perfecting and the third is passing on your knowledge. So the true gift in life is to educate one another and pass on knowledge. knowledge and information will outlive us and you know, the more you share the more the knowledge grows. By teaching another you're not taking away the knowledge that you have for yourself. It's one of the true gifts that you can give without losing. often in a give receive situation; When the giver, gives something to the receiver, the giver no longer has it. but when it comes to knowledge; When the giver, gives knowledge, the receiver and the giver grow together.
