Soul Renovation - School of Soul
Apr 21, 2024Lately I feel like I am in a relationship with exercise and a healthy one at that. We spend the mornings together and the evenings together. We spend rainy days hiking, crisp cold day’s shooting, snowy days skiing and our evenings at the gym or yoga. I’ve always been a collector of skills but never of sport. I didn’t recognize they were one in the same. I used to dread ‘ working out,’ avoid it at all costs, and only do just enough to maintain my weight. It wasn’t until I switched my mindset around fitness from ‘ working out’ to a ‘skill collecting’ mindset that the fun really began. I no longer looked at fitness as something I ‘ must’ or ‘should’ do I started to look at it as ‘ I wonder if I could do that?’ I would see people ski or shoot or do some crazy yoga trick... and I thought ‘ I wonder if I could do that?’ I would pick a skill or trick and practice and practice until I got it. Some of my tricks have taken me years to learn! Who remembers all my failed standing splits for years?! And that’s the fun in it! The failing, and getting back up until you get it. Thus the celebration π It’s amazing how proud we can be of our bodies when we work with them in life β¨π€
