Habit stacking is fun! Think of it as checking several boxes at once. One habit triggers that it is time to perform another habit. For me - when I go flyering, it triggers the habit for me to listen to an audiobook. Walk and learn!
Many people ask me why I flyer and door knock - You guys can see I am a serious homebody, and I love to exercise! Most agents meet their clients going out and socializing. But to be honest, that's just not me - you will find me almost every night at home. I love being home at night. I like going to work and then coming home. I am a creature of habit in many ways.
Because I knew socializing wasn't for me, I learned that I could pair my love of walking with my love for meeting new people - aka doorknocking in my community - this put me out in the community that I wish to sell in and face to face with the owners. When face to face, it is much easier to make a lasting impression and directly access sellers. This has always worked well for me, so this is what I do.
For me, it has the double added enjoyment of being an activity I have gamified in my life. Tracking and improving my knocking has been one of the most intellectually stimulating processes to try to crack in my job. I love a good riddle, and cracking the code to door-knocking is a puzzle and a half!
Also, I am so beyond thrilled to be back in Mandarin classes. My brain loves the workout! It's going to take me a little bit to get back into the swing of it but it's all coming back to me!
