Character Stats
Jul 29, 2024Today’s episode is all about Character Stats!
Character stats are your character’s statistics in life. Just like in a game, your character has stats associated with its life force (how much life is left) and the special skills or tools it possesses. Your character gains and uses skills throughout your Game. They are essential for your character’s success. You want to continually work on raising your character’s skill stats. The higher your character’s stats, the better your character will perform in your Game of Life.
Gaining new skills in life is not a passive activity. You have control around which skills you gain, maintain, and sustain. All skills are available to you. You can learn any skill you want. Do not, however, learn any skill. Instead of going out and choosing from what is offered or what you see in front of you, you must put thought into which skills you want to develop as you move forward. Always take the time to plan out which skills you are going to gain, improve, sustain, and maintain. Always.
Skill stats fall into four main categories:
- Intelligence - earned by gaining knowledge.
- Wisdom - gained through experience.
- Health - gained through fuel and choices.
- Physical - gained through training and strengthening.
While wisdom and intelligence are often referred to as synonyms, they are not the same. Intelligence is gained through knowledge obtained by reading books, taking courses, and taking practical steps towards self-education. Wisdom, on the other hand, is gained through experience.
Exercise: Assessing Your Character Stats
Instructions: Take some time to reflect on your own life and assess your character stats in the four main categories: Intelligence, Wisdom, Health, and Physical. Consider your current level of skills and abilities in each category. Use the following questions as prompts to guide your reflection:
Intelligence:
- What knowledge and information have you gained through reading books, taking courses, or pursuing self-education?
- How effectively do you apply your intelligence in your daily life and decision-making processes?
- Are there any specific areas of knowledge or skills you would like to develop further?
Wisdom:
- What valuable life experiences have you had that contributed to your wisdom?
- How do you apply your wisdom to make better choices and decisions?
- Are there any particular life lessons or areas where you feel you need to gain more wisdom?
Health:
- How well do you take care of your physical and mental well-being?
- What choices do you make regarding nutrition, exercise, rest, and stress management?
- Are there any aspects of your health that you need to improve or focus on?
Physical:
- What level of physical fitness and strength do you currently have?
- Do you engage in regular physical activities or exercises?
- Are there any specific physical skills or abilities you would like to develop?
After reflecting on each category, write down your thoughts and observations. Consider areas where you excel and areas where you see room for improvement. Set goals for yourself to enhance your character stats and create an action plan for how you will work on developing and maintaining these skills.
Remember, the goal of this exercise is to help you become more self-aware and intentional about your personal growth. By actively assessing your character stats and working on improving them, you can enhance your performance in the game of life and strive for greater success and fulfillment.
