Celebrate Your Wins
Jul 30, 2024A mind that is stretched by new experiences and knowledge can never go back to its old dimensions.
Closing loops provides elimination gratification.
Action is how you unlock the next levels, you have to move forward and unlock the doors to see the next levels and options.
What is elimination gratification?
I'm huge on this and I find ways to work elimination gratification into almost all of my goal tracking.
Elimination gratification is the joyful feeling one experiences when they complete a task - we naturally get a hit of this every time we complete a task -
and you can hack this and take it one step further.
When it comes to tracking your goals you can work in gratification feedback - for example if you have a target list - when you cross off the task you will provide yourself a hit of elimination gratification.
Even if you can remember your whole list and feel like, ‘I don't need to write that down.’
Do it anyways - write down the things you are going to do and then cross them off when you complete them.
You are training yourself to see that you are a winner, you get things done.
You do the things you say you're going to do.
And when you go to the next task in the day you will see, ‘oh i did the last one so easily, of course i'll do the next one.’
Yes, you can train your way into WANTING to complete tasks -
Remember, you will never do something you don't want to do and this is why focusing ourselves into changing does not work - if you don't want to do it you will ultimately eventually find a way not to do it.
Where as when we hack our minds and train ourselves to enjoy the completion of a task - we won't be so focused on the task and the details around doing it - no when you think of the task you will being to think of crossing the finish line of that target - crossing it off your list - that feeling you will get when you do.
Now, because you love the way it feels when you get things done, because you train yourself to love that feeling, you
Elimination gratification is an underlying theme that is built into the game board layout (not layout but what else can i call it? plan?
Other than training ourselves to enjoy tasks - by viewing it as a game - simply a level to cross to get that feeling of being a winner.
Let's take a deeper look into what happens in the mind when we win? Why does winning feel so good?
The cool thing is - it builds momentum - it's kinda like rolling a snowball down the hill - the more you win the more you will want to win - and you can see how you could being living your entire life from a state of inspired action - never forcing yourself to do anything -
You want to keep playing to pass your levels and win. Passing your levels lets you know you are on path. Along the way, every win counts. Celebrate all your wins to keep your momentum up!
““Work hard for the person you want to be tomorrow, next month, next year. Work so hard that when you look in the mirror, you give yourself a wink, and say to yourself, “This is what my hustle built. This is the life I built.”””
Every night, I write down everything I accomplished during my day, even if it's something small. If I do it, it’s a win. I passed that level. I used to be really hard on myself and think I wasn't doing enough each day. Once I began writing my wins down, I realized I had many wins each day and in fact there would be no way to fit more tasks or actions in. The mind can trick us into thinking we are not doing enough but it doesn't take into account all we've already done. Keep a notebook next to your bed and before you fall asleep show yourself what a winner you are. Write out everything that got done that day. This builds winning momentum before you sleep.
